Smješten na pitomoj kosini obrasloj maslinom i borom, Gradac je turističko atraktivno mjesto; ističe se jednom od najljepših i najdužih plaža ne samo na Makarskoj rivijeri nego i na cijelom Jadranu.
Rekreativcima su na raspolaganju brojni sportski tereni na kopnu i raznovrsni rekviziti za uživanje na vodi. Uz kvalitetnu ugostiteljsku ponudu posebno su privlačne brojne fešte koje posjecuju i gosti iz ostalih mjesta (Drvenika, Brista).

GRADAC, naselje i lučica u Makarskom primorju, 13 km od Ploča. Gospodarska je osnova poljodjelstvo, vinogradarstvo, maslinarstvo, ribarstvo te turizam. Južno od luke prostire se Gornja vala, s najvećom i najljepšom plažom u Makarskom primorju. Lučica je zašticena od svih vjetrova; s unutrašnje strane lukobrana mogu se vezati manje jahte; za vece jahte sidrište je južno od lucice, a mogu sidriti u uvali Bošac (sjeverozapadno od lucice). Uz magistralnu je prometnicu (M2, E65), s kojom je povezan lokalnom prometnicom.
Na lokalitetu Crkvine, blizu mora, otkriveni su tragovi rimskog zida, a u zaseoku iznad ceste sačuvana je dvokatna četverokutna kula s puškarnicama, sagradena 1661. za obranu od Turaka. Nedaleko od kule je seosko groblje sa starom, djelomice sačuvanom baroknom crkvom.

About Gradac

Gradac is the southernmost touristic locality of the Makarska riviera about 40 kilometers distant from Makarska, situated halfway between Split and Dubrovnik. Nowadays, Gradac is a modern touristic destination. The first hotel was inaugurated in 1919., but a more important touristic activity began after the 60-ties. The guests coming to Gradac these days have available considerable accommodation facilities of which private accommodation provides about 1600 beds in smaller hotels and boarding houses, and in bigger hotels there are 1500 beds available.
